RepairBench (“RepairBench”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides repair-shop management software. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to visitors to our website and to the businesses (“Customers”) who subscribe to RepairBench. Where a repair business uses RepairBench to manage information about their own customers, that business is responsible for how it collects and uses that information, and RepairBench processes it on their behalf (see section 8).
2. Information we collect
- Account information — name, business name, email address, phone number and login credentials when you register.
- Billing information — subscription plan and payment details. Card payments are processed by our third-party payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Business data you enter — the records you create in RepairBench, including jobs, invoices, quotes and details of your own customers and their devices.
- Usage and device information — log data, IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and actions taken, collected to operate and improve the service.
- Communications — messages you send us for support or enquiries.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to provide, maintain and improve the service; to authenticate users and secure accounts; to process subscriptions and payments; to provide support and respond to enquiries; to send service-related and, where permitted, marketing communications (which you can opt out of); and to meet our legal obligations.
4. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. We may use analytics tools such as Google Analytics, which set cookies and collect usage data. Where required, we ask for your consent before loading analytics cookies, and you can decline. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only to trusted service providers who help us run RepairBench — including cloud hosting, payment processing, email and SMS delivery, and analytics — who are bound to protect it and use it only for those purposes. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or in connection with a business sale or restructure.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the APPs.
7. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encryption in transit, access controls and secure hosting. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, accounting and tax obligations, after which we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
8. Information about our Customers’ customers
When a repair business uses RepairBench to store information about its own customers, that business decides how that information is collected and used, and is responsible for having appropriate consents and privacy notices in place. RepairBench acts on that business’s instructions. If you are a customer of a repair shop that uses RepairBench and have a privacy request, please contact that shop directly.
9. Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the “last updated” date shown above.
12. Contact us
